Das letzte Testbier hier im Manchester' Ausschank der schottischen BrewDog an der Peter Street ist an der Reihe. Und was für eines. Satte 10% hat das "BrewDog Ellon Russian Doll Barleywine". Dabei ist es dann auch relativ hell für einen Barley Wine. Ein hefetrübes Goldgelb ist zu sehen, der Antrunk bietet erwartungsgemäß sehr viel Volumen. Dabei ist es fruchtig. Steinobstaromen kommen durch, so kann ich Pfirsich schmecken. Der nächste Schluck bietet eine leichte Säure, dann kommen süße Früchte durch. Vor allem ist hier viel Wumms vorhanden. Leider schmeckt es auch leicht alkoholisch. Ab der Mitte wird es sehr würzig und auch leicht bitter. Ich würde es nun auch trocken bezeichnen. Der sehr lange Abgang rundet dieses leicht krautige, würzig-fruchtige Starkbier ab. Gut gemacht!
